The other thing to be aware of is that the movie is very gritty. It's the first Superman movie that really deals with violence, destruction, and death. The first half of the movie is generally upbeat and fun, and the second half is intense. There are dark moments, lots of action, and a little bit of profanity. With all that in mind, the movie is definitely not for little kids.
It's a good movie, with some intense moments, some humor, and strong performances. It's also a hell of a lot of fun. If you want a good movie with strong action, serious drama, good comedy, and a couple of moments that are really intense, then this is worth seeing.
Overall, I'd say the movie is very good, but there are a few things to be aware of before you decide to see it. For one thing, there are a lot of action scenes, but there's a lot of time spent on both Clark and Lois's relationship, which is solid (even though she does want to get married to him at first). In addition, there are a few minor moments of a couple things, but nothing major.
That said, I love this movie. I think it's a wonderful movie, not because of the violence, which is certainly intense. It's an epic battle, with a lot of ideas and high-level thinking, and it leaves me wanting more. The movie does come off as a little too lighthearted, and it comes off more as an origin story than a movie. But I loved the character, the story, the actors, and all of the special effects. I love the fact that Superman is back in action, and I hope this doesn't end his reign. I'm looking forward to the sequel, and I think it'll be worth seeing.
-- I loved how daring it was to do The Dark Knight without the Joker, and I loved how the movie made an excellent Batman. The near-endless batarangs, the fact that the hero never smiled, the fact that the hero looked super-serious when he wasn't talking to the Joker, it's all so well done. This Batman is scary and serious and doesn't crack a smile, and the Joker is all the more dangerous because he's scary and serious and doesn't crack a smile.
