Table 2.1 provides an overview of the most important features charactersizing IAVM. IAVM are vascular lesions, in which the vascular wall is composed of a single layer of thin-walled blood vessels, connnecting capillary-sized vessels to the venous system, and the lymphatic pathway (Fig. 2).
